White Mountain Club House

White Mountain

White Mountain is a community clubhouse in Nanjing, China, with an area of 2000 square meters. The design combines a surface landscape with underground construction. The form is inspired by rolling hills, so the landscape flows down and links the surface with the underground spaces. The solid appearance of the building is reduced, which helps the clubhouse blend into the urban space and keeps the continuity of the urban landscape. GRC, a building material with strong plasticity, shapes the smooth curves of the facade and the landscape installation.

Strait Culture Art Center

Strait Culture

Strait Culture and Art Center is a cultural complex on the southern bank of the Minjiang River in Fuzhou, China. The center holds a multifunctional theatre, an opera house, a concert hall, an art museum, a film and television center and a central cultural hall. The design is inspired by jasmine, the city flower of Fuzhou. Five main buildings form five white petals, and the Liangcuo River runs between them like a stalk. Ceramics and bamboo, both produced in Fujian, are used for the facades and finishes. The outdoor square, roof platform and waterborne space are open to the public.

Ruyi Exhibition Center

Ruyi

Ruyi is an exhibition centre located in the Longhu Financial Centre in Zhengzhou, China. The entire facade is covered with white aluminium plates. Each plate is shaped into a curve with a different arc through precise calculation. The plates are joined to form a streamlined surface. The building covers an area of 1800 square metres and acts as a landmark within the financial district.

Tianjin Zarsion Exhibition Center

Tianjin Zarsion

Tianjin Zarsion is an exhibition center built beside a tributary of the Yongding River in Tianjin, China. The plan uses a water drop shape set diagonally on the site, which lengthens the approach from the city edge to the entrance. Deep eaves and large glass surfaces create a light roof that appears to float. The structure is mainly wood, supplemented by steel, and 68 radial red pine beams form an umbrella-shaped arched frame. Eight interior wooden columns allow a wide column-free hall. A leaf-shaped skylight is sized to keep the interior light soft and quiet.

Dimension in the Shadows Calendar

Dimension in the Shadows

Dimension in the Shadows is a desk calendar made from black paperboard cut by laser. The set contains twelve monthly cards, each with a different design. Every card is mounted in a slit of a small wooden cube. Dates for Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays are cut through, while weekdays are half cut. Each abstract figure recalls a scene of the changing seasons in Japan. Seen against the light, the sharp outline reads as a paper sculpture. The cast shadow changes shape as the light moves, adding quiet interest to daily life.

Woodland Kindergarten

Woodland

Wandering in the Woods is a kindergarten interior designed for children aged two to six. The original building had limited space and relied heavily on artificial light. For reasons of structural stability and cost, the design keeps the entire structure and inserts an atrium that runs vertically through three stories, so all classrooms receive natural light from both sides. Columns become trees and beams become bridges. Continuous stairs and slides spiral around the columns and connect the spaces. Tree houses offer quiet areas for reading and handwork.
