Gamsei

When Gamsei opened in 2013, hyper-localism was introduced to a field of practice which had till then been mainly confined to the food scene. At Gamsei, ingredients for cocktails are either wildly foraged or grown by local artesian farmers. The bar interior, is a clear continuation of this philosophy. Just like the cocktails, Buero Wagner procured all materials locally, and worked in close collaboration with local manufacturers to produce custom-made solutions. Gamsei is a wholly integrated concept that turns the event of drinking a cocktail into a novel experience.

NISSAN Calendar 2013

Every year Nissan produces a calendar under the theme of its brand tagline “Excitement unlike any other”. The year 2013 version is filled with eye-opening and unique ideas and images as the result of collaboration with a dance-painting artist “ SAORI KANDA”. All the images in the calendar are the works of SAORI KANDA the dance-painting artist. She embodied her inspiration given by Nissan vehicle in her paintings which were directly drawn on a horizont curtain placed in the studio.

Jazz

A bibliophile, fully-illustrated book about the early days of Jazz in New York. In a blend of illustrations, facts, anecdotes and an accompanying CD of original recordings this book presents 24 leading lights of New York’s jazz scene in the 1920s. Illustration, typography, design and the CD form a graphic unit.

The Ring

The proposed Ring House consists of a cylindrical volume embracing a rectangular one. The cylinder acts as a protective closed wall with a single narrow opening serving as the entrance, while the inside rectangle accommodates fluidly all the house functions necessary for the everyday life of the artist: a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room, a kitchen and an atelier. The interior space interacts smoothly with the serene outdoor atrium, a large terrace garden with one symbolic tree and a circular water feature.

With over 47’000 m2 of unique office space, the Campus represents the Google EU Head-quarters and serves as the center for sales and finances in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Steam

Steam is a stove-top tea maker. It brews tea by passing hot water pressurized by steam through stacked kettles. Reflecting upon tea culture in east, Steam has stacking teapots specially designed for tea preparation. Larger lower kettle is filled with water to boil, and then boiled water evaporates into upper kettle, steeping loose-leaf tea blend rather slowly. When desired amount is collected in upper part, switch on top is turned to stop water transfer. Serving is made using two kettles with poured tea and water to dilute, therefore allowing user to adjust the strength of drink.
